US forces called in airstrikes to end the clash, killing more than 30 insurgents in Zerok district of Paktika province, said Hamidullah Zawak, the provincial governor spokesman. Seven US and two Afghan troops were wounded, a US military spokesman said.

This news has been just posted this morning in All4Syria.info . Of course it is not a surprise to me or to anyone who is familiar with Syria and its politics whether in the past or the present. Last year there were reports published regionally and internationally that Al Assad had arrested his powerful brother in law who was once The inlaws thought to be the real ruler of Damascus.
